Meets — Cross Country
Validation
Score Validation doesn't list finishers — it walks through the NFHS team-scoring math step by step, so you can see exactly how the final standings were reached.
Walk through the scoring math
- 1
Open Validation
From the meet, open Validation (Score Validation).
- 2
Follow the steps
Each team’s raw finish places are carried through the NFHS rules one step at a time — eligibility, the top-7 cutoff, re-ranking, the scoring five, and the summed score.
- 3
Check the final standings
The last step shows the resulting team places and scores. If something looks off, fix it in Score Input and come back to re-check.
What each step shows
- Every team’s runners by finish place — grouped by team, not a single finisher list.
- Teams with fewer than 5 finishers, marked ineligible and excluded from scoring.
- Each team’s 8th finisher and beyond, discarded so they can’t displace opponents.
- The scoring five vs. the two displacers (6th and 7th) for each team.
- The summed scoring positions and final team standings, lowest score wins.
Tip
This is a scoring explainer, not an entry checklist — for catching missing times, unmatched bibs, or other data issues, see Score Input. Once the standings here look right, share the public results.
