WTF: Workouts

Happy Birthday, America! 🇺🇸

Before I get into this week’s WTF, I hope everyone has a fun, festive, and safe Fourth of July!

The relaunch of QuickMeet has been going well. As you explore the site, please let me know if you run into anything that doesn’t work the way you expect. Your feedback is incredibly helpful.

This week’s WTF is all about Workouts.

Workouts are available year-round, so you can create and schedule training sessions for cross country, indoor track, or outdoor track.

The workout builder was designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing you to create virtually any workout you can imagine.

As you build a workout, you can choose from a variety of workout types:

Choose from a variety of workout types

Once you’ve selected a workout type, fill in the details based on your training plan:

Sample interval workout with mile repeats

In this example, the workout is 4 × 1600 meters with 3 minutes of recovery between repeats.

If you set a goal event and goal time, QuickMeet automatically calculates the target pace for each athlete based on their goal pace. Workout paces can also be based on personal records for each athlete.

After creating the workout, simply add it to the calendar and assign it to one or more training groups.

Assigning the mile repeats to everyone

Once the workout is scheduled, coaches can record the results for each interval, or athletes can enter their own results if they’ve been invited to use QuickMeet.

Every workout is saved alongside each athlete’s race history, giving you a complete picture of their training and performance in one place.

That leads perfectly into next week’s WTF: Training Load Calculator.

That’s all for this week. Enjoy the holiday weekend, and Happy Fourth of July!
