WTF: Managing Your Roster

Happy Friday!

This week’s WTF is all about managing your rosters.

If you are new to QuickMeet, adding your athletes may seem daunting at first, but there are a few options to help you get up and running (see what I did there?) quickly and easily.

Adding Athletes One at a Time

Of course, you can add athletes one at a time using the Add Athletes button on the Athletes page. It’s not the most efficient method, but if you only have a few athletes to add, this may be the easiest path forward.

QuickMeet only requires a first name, last name, and gender. Grade and email are optional.

Adding athletes one by one

Adding Athletes in Bulk

The fastest way to get your athletes into QuickMeet is to use the Bulk Add tool. If you already have your roster in a spreadsheet, you’re pretty much most of the way there.

Just duplicate your roster sheet and arrange the columns in this order:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Gender
  • Grade
  • Email

For Gender, use M or F.

For Grade, use 6–12 for middle/high school or FR, SO, JR, or SR for college athletes.

Then export your sheet as a CSV (comma-separated values) file.

Download your data as a CSV

On the Athletes page, click Bulk Add, then choose your CSV file.

Easy peasy!

Bulk Actions

Once you have athletes in the system, you can perform bulk actions to make managing your roster much easier.

Simply select the athletes you want to work with, and the available actions will appear at the top of the page. You can use these tools to archive athletes or promote them to the next grade level.

Fun tip: You can select all of your athletes at once by clicking the checkbox to the left of the Name column.

Archiving Athletes

If you already have athletes on your roster from previous seasons, you can clean things up by archiving athletes who may not be on the team again this year.

Select the athletes you want to archive, then click Archive.

Archived athletes are removed from your active roster but aren’t deleted, so you can still access their information later if needed.

Promoting Athletes

You can also bulk promote athletes to the next grade level.

Select the athletes you want to promote, then choose Promote from the options at the top of the page.

Athletes in 12th grade and college seniors (SR) are automatically archived when promoted.

A Few Reminders

If you want athletes to log in to QuickMeet to manage their goals, workouts, and other information, they will need an email address in the system.

We also take user privacy seriously. We don’t send marketing emails to athletes, and we don’t sell your data to anyone.

Have a great weekend, and good luck to all of you getting ready for XC preseason!
